A Poem from the Soup Kitchen
Hi Readers!
It's been awhile since I've posted a poem from the Soup Kitchen, so I thought I might as well do so. Please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions on it! Additionally, if you know of any other good poems or if you have an original poem of your own you'd like to share, please do so right here at Reading Soup, or on my Google Plus profile page!

Watch the Skies
By The Soup Chef
She always loved to watch the skies.
It was just part of who she was.
During the day,
she'd watch the massive cotton balls roll
over a vast sea
of blue.
The best time to look up though,
was at night.
Sometimes she'd study the stars with the help of a telescope.
At other times---
she'd gaze with the naked eye.
The stars were a bigger, brighter part of her
mysteries upon mysteries
untold stories that were
light years away and yet somehow,
she still felt a connection to them.
On some nights,
the stars shone a little less bright.
but she still knew they were there.
On other nights,
She felt as though she could just reach out,
and feel the smooth little diamonds
in the palm of her hand.
She always loved to watch the skies.
