Book Review: Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

Genre: Nonfiction
Ages: 14 and Up

Hi Readers!

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted, my summer's just been extremely busy. Fortunately though, I did get a chance to read Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers, and was highly impressed by it. It might very well be the first nonfiction book I've ever read, enjoyed, and done a book review on. Gladwell's style of writing was captivating and to the point, which I as a reader greatly appreciated. Even if you're not a huge fan of nonfiction, I encourage you to pick up Outliers. It's a great summer read, and the information found within it is just fascinating.

About:
We all grow up thinking that the successful people in the world are those who are set apart, with highly specialized gifts and abilities granted to them since birth. But the truth of the matter is that the truly successful people in the world were lucky enough to be presented with opportunities to get ahead in life. Malcolm Gladwell argues that success is a product of one's environment, and not solely special gifts or abilities. From professional hockey players, pilots, and businessmen, all were given numerous opportunities to be successful in life, opportunities that we rarely take the time to consider.
